We're almost halfway through August, which means that for many of us, the last few weeks have been filled with beach days and pool time. We hope you've been following Dr. Schultz's skin care advice and layering on the SPF 50 every day, but if you haven't and experienced some painful sunburns, we're here for you.
To help you heal your skin from the summer, Dr. Schultz has provided a regimen just in time for the start of the new season. This regimen will help with spots all over your body, whether it be your face, décolletage, the backs of your hands, arms, legs, and torso.
Step 1: Exfoliate
Exfoliate gently with glycolic acid. You should treat your face with an eight percent strength, like our Essential 8% Exfoliating Serum. On other areas, you can use a stronger exfoliant at 10 to 12 percent. Exfoliation will remove clogging and matting dead cells that were killed by the sun, in efforts to help restore luster, and plump the fine lines by adding volume.
Step 2: Use an Antioxidant
Antioxidants, or stable forms of vitamin c are crucial to stop the damage from continuing. The antioxidants will combat the dangerous, hidden sun induced free radicals from hiding in your skin. Use BeautyRx's Triple Vitamin C Serum each evening after exfoliating for brighter, smoother, softer, younger-looking skin.
Step 3: Treat Brown Spots
Brown spots? Talk to your dermatologist about your options to help remove those spots. Exfoliants and antioxidants will help reduce their appearance.
Step 4: Moisturize
And lastly, moisturize, moisturize, moisturize. Restore your skin's moisture with a deeply hydrating cream like our Soothing Moisture Cream, which is packed with ingredients like Hyaluronic Acid and She Butter.
Going forward, prevent damage before it happens. Use sunscreen every day and re-apply after swimming or sweating.
