Should You Combine Exfoliants?

Plan of Attack

Glycolic, an Alpha-Hydroxy Acid, helps improve the texture of your skin by removing the dead surface cells that accumulate and rob you of the youthful glow you once had. Glycolic is a gentle chemical exfoliant that is water-soluble. Salicylic acid, a Beta-Hydroxy Acid, is fat soluble, which means it is better at getting beyond the top layer, into the epidermis and even slightly below, and is traditionally used as an acne spot treatment.

Partners in Prime

Using both AHA and BHA together creates a perfect pair. The glycolic dissolves the top layer, allowing the salicylic to do its thing and reach further down into the epidermis. This in turn allows the glycolic to penetrate deeper than it could if just used alone. While both acids are effective exfoliants, they work even better when paired. They will leave your skin bright and primed for an even application of sunless tanner or a smooth makeup application the next morning. And both exfoliants are included in the BeautyRx proprietary compound, Tetrafoliant, to leave you glowing and perfectly exfoliated.
