Pros: I often have allergic reactions to face creams, but no problems at all with this one. It's strong yet light, and even on hot days it never feels waxy or thick like other spf creams.
Cons: None. I love this product.
Age: 40 - 54

Comments: I was part of a skin make-over story for a magazine and got to be treated by Dr. Schultz and use this line of products. Whenever I left the office, they gave me some of this cream to put on. I came to love it and now buy it for daily use. Excellent product.

Pros: -does not smell like "sunscreen" - not greasy -perfect under make up
Age: 25 - 39

Comments: I highly recommend Max Solar Defense Sheer Cream SPF50 for ladies who is looking for perfect sunscreen to use under make up. Its sooooo sheer that i do not feel it on my skin, it doesn't apply white (like a lot of other sunscreen which i tried do), it actually mattifying on my oily-acne prone skin. And the best part it DOES NOT break me out! those are the reason i am going to continue using it. Thank you DR. Schultz, you are genius!

Hi abby,
Yes, the Solar Defense Sheer Sunscreen SPF is suitable for acne prone skin. It is a sheer sunscreen and absorbs quickly without leaving a white cast on the skin. Dr. Schultz always recommends applying sunscreen before moisturizer in order to get the best results.

Why do I need to use SPF 50 vs SPF 15 or 30?
Asked by Anonymous

An SPF of 50 provides 98% protection against UVB rays. For context, SPF 15 provides 93%, SPF 30 provides 97%, and no SPF provides 100%. However, as the SPF increases, so does that thickness of the sunscreen itself. You should always use a sunscreen with SPF of at least 15 to 30, with broad spectrum protection, however, the choice is ultimately up to you and based on your preference of how the sunscreen feels on your skin compared to how much protection it provides. The good news is that the Maximum Solar Defense Sheer Cream SPF 50 feels significantly lighter than most other sunscreens that offer the same protection; in fact, many people can't even feel it once it has been applied and absorbed.

What does "chemfree" mean? Is it better than regular sunscreen?
Asked by Chris

Chemfree sunscreens contain, amongst other ingredients, zinc oxide and titanium dioxide in place of chemicals such as avobenzone and oxtinoxate. Traditional avobenzone- and oxtinoxate-based sunscreens work by being absorbed into your skin, and after approximately 30 minutes, forming a layer of protection that absorbs and attempts to neutralize the harmful rays of the sun. Chemfree active ingredients such as zinc oxide and titanium dioxide act as a physical block against the sun's rays, to provide instant protection, without having to wait 30 minutes to be fully protected.

Chemfree sunscreens are less irritating than traditional, chemical-based sunscreens. Additionally, micronized zinc oxide and titanium dioxide particles can absorb oil, making this a good alternative for oily-skinned people.
