By now, you've heard us recommend reapplying sunscreen every two to three hours, or after swimming or sweating. However, what if you're at work and you have makeup on? Is it realistic to reapply sunscreen so often, and as a result, also have to reapply your makeup with the same frequency? It seems annoying and impractical to remove your makeup just to reapply sunscreen — and the good news is, you don't need to. If your makeup is still intact and you haven't rubbed or sweated it off, then your sunscreen is still under your makeup and protecting your skin. The rule of thumb is simple: If your makeup needs refreshing, then your sunscreen needs refreshing.
