Neal Schultz MD
“Glycolic exfoliation is the key to a more radiant, healthy and youthful complexion.” - Neal Schultz MD
Dr. Schultz is a leading, board-certified dermatologist who for the last 30 years has maintained a thriving medical practice, Park Avenue Skin Care, on the Upper East Side of New York City. He focuses on general and cosmetic dermatology, seeing over 10,000 patient visits per year. Much of Dr. Schultz’s success can be attributed to his unique ability to interface with these patients on a personal level, first and foremost by listening, and then engaging them with his knowledge and accessible advice focused on authentic solutions to their individual skin needs. He proudly counts as patients multiple generations of the same families – some of whom unexpectedly bump into each other at the office – as well as skincare industry leaders, royalty, physicians, and individuals from a diverse set of backgrounds.
It’s Not Just About Wrinkles
During the last 30 years of practice, Dr. Schultz developed the skin care principle that now guides him and his proprietary BeautyRx Skincare line: “It’s Not Just About Wrinkles.” He recognized that when people look in the mirror, if they’re unhappy with their skin, overwhelmingly they blame lines and wrinkles, because it’s the only skin concerns they know how to identify. However, lines and wrinkles account for less than one quarter of what we see on our skin. It is for this reason that Dr. Schultz places such a large emphasis on the color and texture issues his patients show him every day – large pores, dark spots, uneven skin tones, matte skin, etc. – in addition to lines and wrinkles.
Glycolic Acid: The Gold Standard of Exfoliation
Dr. Schultz regularly administers Botox and fillers, performs cosmetic laser procedures, and assists his patients with the early detection and treatment of skin cancer. However, as part of his 10 year patient trial in his practice, which he refers to as his “living laboratory”, and having performed over 30,000 in-office glycolic peels, Dr. Schultz determined that not only is glycolic the gold standard of chemical exfoliation, but that chemical exfoliation is the key to treating color and texture issues and revealing the radiant, healthier and younger looking skin his patients visit him for. This led him to create and develop the finest, most exclusive, signature in-office treatments and BeautyRx products based on exfoliation, in which he masterfully tweaks his proprietary formulations to address almost every skin concern.
DermTV: The Internet’s First Skincare Show
Not only does Dr. Schultz share his knowledge directly with patients, but his passion for teaching extends beyond the walls of his office to reach people worldwide. In 2009, he launched the world’s first daily skincare video show on the Internet, DermTV. His show features more than 450 episodes covering any and every skin topic, and has received more than 10 million views. Designed as quick, informative videos that communicate “real time” advice, each DermTV episode offers direct access to him and highlights his unbiased, objective commentary. Topics range from exfoliation to his passionate belief about the skincare products people must use every day (sunscreens, antioxidants and exfoliants), sun protection, anti-aging, acne treatment, skin cancer, dermatologic and cosmetic laser surgery, breaking news in dermatology and more. He also hosts a monthly, live Q&A session on the Internet via streaming video making him regularly available to the public. He’s also the author of It’s Not Just About Wrinkles, the book named after his skin principle, and yet another tool that shares his expertise with the world.
