Regardless of your age, you should be using the skincare essentials: exfoliating products, antioxidants, and sunscreen. However, as we age our main skincare concerns change. The issue that was most important in your teens and twenties, the treatment and prevention of acne, has evolved into the ongoing prevention of premature photo-aging and treatment of emerging lines and wrinkles.

Today I had the pleasure of joining my friend and her mother for brunch on the Upper East Side. We got to talking skincare and I mentioned to both of them what wonderful skin they had, as I remember my friend saying once that she had gotten her flawless skin from her mother. Boy did she luck out!

I shared a bit about the BeautyRx blog, and that, if there was one takeaway, it’d be that exfoliation is the single, most important thing you can do for your skin. Turns out my friend’s mother has been exfoliating daily for years. Bingo.

Yesterday was a lazy Sunday, and a stormy one here in New York. Taking full advantage of the conditions, I waited out the passing thunder and rain on my couch for the better part of the morning (and the afternoon...). When the sky seemed to clear, I snuck out on errands. What did I forget?
